Refreshingly different

Following a friend's recommendation we tried out the redesigned and facelifted Pasta Mia in Limassol on Sunday for family lunch with our boys. We were not to be disappointed: finally an alternative fun venue for children! They have a play area in the basement with a climbing thing, a couple of slides, magnetic/chalk boards, little tables and chairs, a TV with cartoons as well as a TV screen for their wii sports. All complete with a girl supervising the kids...just be careful with the heavy glass door leading into the room – could become a hazard for little, squash-prone fingers.

The restaurant itself is refreshingly designed. It's fun, trendy, spacious, bright with high ceilings and original 'artwork' made from pasta and veggies hanging on the walls. The service was attentive and courteous, and despite our requests to move tables twice due to some serious draft and cold air movements in the beginning, the waiters were patient and accommodating.

The menu is extensive and very detailed: pasta, pizza, loads of nice salads and some mains, all nicely presented (portions almost too big!), fresh and tasty.

If there's one improvement to suggest it would be their kids' menu offering. With only five dishes I found it rather small for such a kid-friendly overall approach.

Overall we give it the thumbs up! The boys totally loved the experience, we enjoyed it too, and we will surely return for seconds.

Sounds great, it's so nice to see kids being properly catered for. It always surprises me that in a country where they are so welcome in restaurants and pubs (unlike the UK) that more often than not you are lucky to find a highchair and a sunfaded and cracked plastic slide!

We also enjoyed it. Agree on the menu - kids were occupied which was the main thing!!
